The best beef broth i have so far, well at least for ottawa area. You also have to try the pork and beef vermicelli. overall - 4.25 from me. service just a little above fair and acceptable.
The food was average but the waitress was extremely rude. Probably the most uncomfortable dining experience I have ever had. She never smiled, avoided eye contact as she slammed our soup on the table and just seemed generally annoyed at having us in the restaurant. Its too bad because the owner was sweet and this place would of had a shot if the service was a bit more friendly but I will not be returning to dine here.
Absolutely terrible. Is a pathetic excuse of pho. Broth is simply chicken or beef broth from a box or can. Noodles are large and overcooked. Was served chunks of raw onion in my broth. Nothing about the menu at Pho ou is Pho.
I am a fan of Pho soup and know most places in Ottawa. I was excited to hear that a Pho place in Sandy Hill where I live. I have gone to this location at least a dozen times and not once did they get my order right or had a positive experience.
I even took my boss here for lunch one day and they didn't have a bathroom she could use. How can they be in business?
The lady that works the front doesn't seem to care whether you are happy or not. She completly dismisses your comments or feedback. Here are a few experiences.
- this week, ordered 2 chicken pho and 1 beef. I got 2 beef and 1 chicken. I had asked for extra Hoisen sauce, I got an extra spicy instead. I got home, which is just around the corner, and the broth was not hot enough to cook my beef soup.
- no bathroom to use- They told my boss to go to Subway or to Timothy's to use the bathroom.
- asked for extra been sprouts. She just looked at me and ignored me.
- numerous times where I ask for chicken pho and get home and I hve beef.
I am surprised this place is still open. I have decided to drive to my usual Pho spots...honestly will be worth the drive.
I think the owner should consider hiring a better hostess for the front....if he cares for his customers. He lost me for good!
Visited Ottawa during my vacation and this was one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area!
